IndigeNouse: A New Old Way of Thinking
Indigenous
people have a profound understanding of their environments and
have lived in relative harmony with nature for millennia, not
only surviving, but thriving in some of Earth's most inhospitable
environments.
In order to help develop more efficient business practices that
are compatible with the natural limits of a finite planet, IndigeNouse
have developed a unique programme combining indigenous knowledge,
Earth science, music, literature and art, which encourages participants
to adopt a 'new old way of thinking'.
Based on indigenous world-views, this 'new old way of thinking'
is the result of many thousands of years of experience in building
resilient communities in the face of natural hazards.
Why?
To make
businesses aware that there is a better way of approaching business
practice; one that is holistic, balanced and self-regulating.
What?
|
|
An
adaptable framework for business practice based on thousands
of years of success in the most pressing of environments - surviving
on Earth. Our innovative Five Fires
programme challenges accepted wisdom and encourages participants
to see the world in new ways.
How?
Through
an understanding of indigenous worldviews and Earth systems
and the application of this knowledge to business practice,
IndigeNouse's 'new old way of thinking' is designed to get participants
seeing things in new ways. Our interactive workshops, seminars
and presentations will motivate and encourage your company to
achieve profitability, efficiency and sustainability in ways
that do not cost the Earth!
IndigeNouse
(a combination of indigenous and nouse meaning
know-how; practical skills) is a consultancy born out of Kyle
Maplesden's knowledge of indigenous art and culture combined
with Dr Mike Edwards' expertise in the climate change and sustainability
sector.
Look
to our past and we will find our future.
